Huawei Mate 70 debuts pure-blood version of Hongmeng, soaring performance, reshaping flagship benchmark
According to a report by Fast Tech on May 14, Huawei is accelerating its transition to its homegrown HarmonyOS platform, which is expected to be fully adopted in the second half of this year, gradually moving away from the Android system. This major shift will be marked by the release of the Mate 70 series, which is expected to be released around September. It will be equipped with HarmonyOS Next, an optimized and upgraded version of the Hongmeng system, for the first time.
The application of HarmonyOS Next on the Mate 70 series shows significant technological progress, especially the efficiency of memory usage has been increased to three times, and the built-in artificial intelligence support means that compared with the Android system, under the same hardware conditions, the Hongmeng system can provide higher operating efficiency.
Huawei is committed to rapidly expanding the ecological application range of HarmonyOS, planning to increase the number of supported applications to 5,000 by the end of the year, and based on this, the long-term goal is to surpass the 500,000 application mark.
Huawei’s senior management has shown firm determination in this regard. On April 18, rotating chairperson Xu Zhijun emphasized that the promotion of the new operating system is one of the core tasks in 2024, and the company will further increase its strategic investment to fully promote this transformation.
In addition, it is reported that the Mate 70 will be equipped with a new Kirin processor, whose performance has been restored to the industry’s top level, adding more expectations to Huawei’s path to independent technology.
