BMW Brilliance Automotive Co., Ltd. recalls some domestic BMW 3 Series vehicles

A few days ago, BMW Brilliance Automobile Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in accordance with the requirements of the "Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Automobile Products" and the "Measures for the Implementation of the Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Automobile Products", and decided to recall some BMW Brilliance 316i, 316 Li, 320i, 320Li, 328i, 328i, 335Li vehicles produced between September 1, 2015 and October 31, 2015, totaling 16,504 vehicles.

For vehicles within the scope of this recall, due to the manufacturing reasons of the fuel tank supplier, the processing port cover on the upper part of the fuel tank may crack after long-term use, resulting in fuel leakage when the vehicle is filled with fuel, which poses a safety hazard. BMW Brilliance Automotive Co., Ltd. will replace the fuel tank for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge to eliminate the safety hazard.

As an emergency response plan, it is recommended that users do not fill more than 3/4 of the fuel gauge when refueling, so as not to increase the fuel tank load and cause damage. If users smell fuel odor in the vehicle or observe fuel leakage, they should contact an authorized BMW dealer for repair as soon as possible.

This recall activity was carried out after the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine initiated a defect investigation. For some time, the Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine Administration’s defective product management center has received complaints from consumers about this problem. After receiving the complaint, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine immediately deployed the defective product management center to carry out defect investigation and assessment of the above-mentioned problems. Affected by the investigation, BMW Brilliance Automotive Co., Ltd. decided to take recall measures to eliminate safety hazards.
