Envision S to Launch Avenir on July 29

On July 21, Aika Automobile learned from SAIC General Motors that the brand’s new mid-sized SUV and the Envision S Avenir will be officially launched on the 29th of this month. As the first model of Buick to be equipped with the eCloud intelligent cloud electronic architecture, the Envision S is based on GM’s mid-sized luxury SUV architecture. It focuses on sports style and differentiates from the current ones on sale. After listing, it will further enrich the product matrix of the Buick brand. According to the plan, the new car will meet the public for the first time during the Chengdu Auto Show.
The front face of the Envision S features Buick’s new-styled flying wing grille. The horizontal design extends the visual width and echoes the silver lower guard at the bottom, reducing the visual center of gravity. The long bonnet and short rear overhang design create a lower, wider and more dynamic body posture, and further improve the aerodynamic performance. The new car is also equipped with the only Matrix Pixel matrix full LED pixel headlights in its class. It has an 84-pixel far and near light integrated module, which can realize independent partition lighting and 10 intelligent lighting modes.
The length and width of the Envision S body are 4662 * 1883 * 1631/1641mm, with a wheelbase of 2779mm and a front and rear wheelbase of 1610mm and 1630mm respectively. The body surface uses tension-filled lines running through the head and tail, and further enhances the sporty atmosphere through the Z-shaped characteristic waist line. The new car is also equipped with five aluminum alloy wheels of 18 inches and 20 inches, and the extended eyebrows complement the slender bottom line of the body.
In the rear part of the car, the rear door of the Envision S adopts a suspended three-dimensional design, with a full LED tail light that echoes the front face, which looks both dynamic and delicate. It is worth mentioning that in order to meet the needs of more young consumers, the Envision S is also equipped with a cool black kit, which brings a richer variety of personalized options.
In the interior part, the Envision S is equipped with a three-spoke steering wheel with a first layer of real cowhide. The cockpit is designed with piano paint laser engraving trim, streamlined chrome decoration, French double seam of the same color, etc., and is supplemented by a large area of piano paint technology and soft leather material. The center console adopts a new asymmetrical design, and the screen angle is biased to the driver. With the newly introduced ETRS button-based electronic gear, HUD head-up system, wireless charging and wireless Apple CarPlay, it significantly enhances driving safety while enhancing the sense of technology.
The Envision S is designed with more than 20 storage spaces, including the front double-folio design armrest, the lower part of the center armrest through storage box, etc. The second row of seats supports 4/6 ratio and full reclining. In terms of comfort, the seats of the new car are ergonomically designed, with a high proportion of electric adjustment/heating/ventilation/memory functions. The Envision S also offers patented Quiet Tuning technology, which comes standard with ANC active noise reduction technology, and dual-zone independent fully automatic air conditioning with nano-protective PM2.5 air conditioning filter elements.
The Envision S is the first vehicle to be equipped with the Buick eCloud intelligent cloud electronic architecture, capable of completing system and functional updates in a FOTA manner. Throughout the life cycle, the vehicle can be continuously updated for most software-controlled subsystems through official upgrade packages, including more than 30 electronic modules including powertrain, chassis system, body control system, in-vehicle communication and entertainment system.
The new car is equipped with a series of configurations such as intelligent parking system (gear position can be automatically adjusted), Apple CarPlay, remote window opening, Baidu AI intelligent voice assistant, wireless charging, etc. In addition,The new car will also be equipped with a new generation of OnStar OurHours online assistant, covering more than 50 main services in 5 categories, including vehicle remote control functions, and providing 100G of annual "OnStar 4G connected vehicle application lifetime free data" service.
As a member of the high-end sub-brand of Buick Avenir, Envision S Avenir brings consumers a full range of luxury enjoyment. The new car has many Avenir exclusive design elements: including an exclusive three-dimensional mesh grille inspired by medieval aristocratic chain mail, 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels, Avenir exclusive car logo, etc. It is worth mentioning that, in addition to the elegant ivory white interior, Envision S Avenir also launched a new jazz black interior for the first time.
In terms of power, the Envision S will be equipped with a 2.0T engine with a maximum output of 174kW (235 horsepower), matching a 9-speed automatic transmission, of which the two-wheel drive version has a combined fuel consumption of 7.2L for 100 kilometers and the four-wheel drive version is 7.6L. In terms of suspension system, the Buick Envision S adopts front McPherson/rear multi-link four-wheel independent suspension, and has a CDC OurHours active hydraulic shock absorption system, which can actively adjust the suspension shock absorption hardness and damping in real time.
